Pegaworld 2026: the year the conversation grew up

MGM Grand, Las Vegas | 7–9 June 2026

This year’s event landed differently. While much of the industry continues to focus on model size, agent counts and faster code generation, Pega used its main stage to make a quieter but more practical argument: predictability, not novelty, is now the thing worth competing on.

As Alan Trefler stated, AI is no longer the differentiator — predictable outcomes are. For organisations operating in regulated industries, that reframing may prove to be the most important takeaway from PegaWorld 2026.

Predictability Over Hype

Infinity 26 anchored the message throughout the event. Described as Pega’s most ambitious platform release in over a decade, the focus was consistent across every keynote and demonstration:

  • Predictable outcomes
  • Predictable governance
  • Predictable costs

It is a deliberately practical approach and a welcome shift for organisations that have spent the last eighteen months investing in AI pilots that never progressed into production.

Agents That Run Mission-Critical Work

Pega’s agentic AI vision has matured significantly. New support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables organisations to connect internal and third-party AI agents directly into governed business processes.

Rather than treating AI as a standalone capability, Pega positions agents within orchestrated and auditable workflows where business stakeholders remain in control of outcomes.

For industries such as financial services, insurance and the public sector, governed orchestration is rapidly becoming a requirement rather than an option.

The Commercial Shift Worth Watching

One of the most significant announcements was commercial rather than technical. Pega is moving towards pricing based on completed business cases rather than AI token consumption.

Positioned as an alternative to the growing “AI token tax”, this model offers enterprises greater cost predictability and simplifies the creation of business cases for AI adoption.

Modernisation Where Budgets Already Exist

Legacy modernisation remained a dominant theme throughout the conference. Customer stories from organisations including MetLife, Unum and Wells Fargo reinforced the reality that transformation budgets are already being committed to modernisation programmes.

Pega’s integration of Blueprint AI with AWS Transform further positions the platform as a design and orchestration layer for large-scale transformation initiatives.

What This Means for Our Clients

The direction of travel aligns strongly with the work we do across regulated industries. A predictable, governed and outcome-based platform maps directly to priorities such as Consumer Duty, DORA compliance and enterprise modernisation.

More importantly, it strengthens the business case for moving beyond experimentation towards scalable and controlled deployment.

While several headline capabilities will become available later in 2026, the message from PegaWorld was clear: success will be defined not by AI demonstrations, but by measurable business outcomes delivered in production.
